Paul & Hannah

The Swan, West Malling

This Easter I head off into the beautiful Kentish village of West Malling. With it’s rustic charm and rural setting; it’s a stunning location to get married in the South East of England.

Paul and Hannah were blessed on the day as the weather was dry and the rain stayed away. Friends and family had helped the venue flourish with homemade decorations and flowers prepared lovingly by Mother of the Groom.

As a wedding venue, The Swan in West Malling is certainly compact but as the intimate ceremony came to a close and the evening drew in; the atmosphere changed dramatically. As evening guests rolled in and the bar got busy, the DJ fired up the soundsystem and the dance floor was instantly full.

This was a small wedding with only 35 daytime guests but the atmosphere was second to none thanks to the amazing Wedding Band

I shoot in massive venues, like the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, London, Denbies Wine Estate in Surrey and Powderham Castle near Exeter but often, as magnificent as these venues obviously are you are missing the atmosphere that you get in these small country settings.

I know which one I would choose if I was planning my wedding…
