Harriet & Julian’s Wild Wedding Party at the Gun Brewery & Taproom

Some couples go for the big, all-day wedding extravaganza. Harriet and Julian? They did things their way. Ceremony earlier in the week, then a massive knees-up with their favourite people at the Gun Brewery & Taproom. No pomp, no fuss—just pure fun, laughter, and a whole lot of beer.

Honestly, it suited them perfectly.

The Setting:
Beer, Views & Vibes

The Gun Brewery Taproom is one of those places that just feels right for a party. Big open space, rolling countryside views, relaxed atmosphere, and beer that’s actually worth talking about. It gave the day this effortlessly cool backdrop that didn’t need dressing up.

And when that sun started to drop? Absolute magic. Golden fields glowing in the background, the perfect excuse to sneak Harriet and Julian away for some ridiculously gorgeous sunset shots. A tiny calm pocket in an otherwise brilliantly chaotic evening.

Candid Chaos (The Good Kind)

From the moment things kicked off, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a day of polite poses. Kids were running across the grass playing endless games of football, friends grabbed badminton rackets for what can only be described as a bonkers, rules-optional tournament, and the dance floor was anywhere you wanted it to be.

Everywhere I looked there was something happening—big laughs, bear hugs, slightly questionable dance moves. The kind of stuff you can’t script, which makes it even better to capture.

This is why I love shooting weddings like this: the candid energy is off the charts and the photos tell the real story.

That Golden Hour Glow

Just before the madness peaked, I grabbed Harriet and Julian for a quick few frames in the fields before we lost the sunset. No fuss, no over-posing—just the two of them laughing together while the light did its thing. Backlit, hazy, and properly romantic without being cheesy. Definitely some of my favourite shots from the day.

A Party That Felt Like Them

If there’s one thing this wedding nailed, it’s that it felt totally true to Harriet and Julian. They didn’t chase tradition, they didn’t put on a show—they just threw a massive party with the people they love, and it was absolutely brilliant.

For me, it was one of those nights that sums up why I love what I do. Weddings don’t need to be staged to be unforgettable. The crazy, noisy, joy-filled ones are the ones that leave the biggest mark.
