Most of my couples tell me they’re awkward, hate having their photo taken, don’t know what to do with their hands, or some combination of all three.

You don’t need to practise poses in the mirror. I’ll give you a few nudges when you need it, leave you alone when you don’t, and generally keep things relaxed enough that you forget there’s a camera pointing at you.

Don’t spend the day worrying about where I’m standing, whether you’re doing the right thing or whether we got the shot.

That’s my problem.

Your job is to get married, hug people, eat things, drink things, laugh a lot and have a bloody brilliant day.

You make sure you’re having a good time!

I’ll take care of the pictures.

Absolutely not. I have a life to live too.

My style is mostly candid and relaxed, so I’ll spend most of the day photographing things as they actually happen.

We’ll grab some lovely couple photos and the important family groups, but I’m not interested in disappearing with you for two hours while your guests drink all the champagne.

Usually a little wander together is plenty.

Absolutely, particularly for family groups, important people and anything unusual or personal that I wouldn’t otherwise know about.

What I don’t need is a Pinterest list containing 147 individual photographs for me to recreate.

Your wedding isn’t somebody else’s wedding. Let’s make photographs that actually belong to you.

Despite my love of candid photography, I’m not going to tell your nan that posed photographs are dead and refuse to take one of everyone together.

We’ll get the important family combinations ticked off quickly and painlessly, then everyone can get back to the important business of drinking, eating and enjoying themselves.

You’ll get a sneak peek within 48 hours with the Big Day or Bells & Whistles package, because waiting is horrible and I’m not a monster.

Your full gallery will be delivered within 8 weeks, although I’ll always aim to get it to you sooner where I can.

Your finished photographs arrive in a lovely private online gallery.

You can download them, share them with friends and family, revisit them at 1am after three glasses of wine, and generally enjoy them however you fancy.

We take photographs.

Rain doesn’t cancel weddings and it certainly doesn’t cancel photography. We’ll use whatever the day gives us, whether that’s glorious sunshine, moody clouds, dramatic rain or meteorological chaos.

And if there’s a five-minute break in the weather, I’ll probably spot it before you do and shout “QUICK, OUTSIDE!”

Yep. They’re your wedding photos, so naturally I want you to actually use them.

You can download them, print them, frame them, plaster your house with them and give copies to family.

I keep the copyright as the photographer, but you have personal-use rights to your finished images.

If you’re getting ready reasonably close together and the timings work, I can usually bounce between you.

If logistics make that impossible, adding a second photographer is a brilliant option.

Yep.

A second photographer is particularly useful for bigger weddings, getting-ready coverage in two locations, extra guest candids and capturing different angles of the same moment.

It’s not essential for every wedding, but for the right day it’s a cracking addition.

I do.

Think of it as a one-hour wedding warm-up.

We go somewhere lovely, have a wander, take some photographs and prove conclusively that you’re nowhere near as awkward in front of the camera as you thought you were.

Then when the wedding arrives, you’ve already done this once. Easy.

If you want all those lovely little behind-the-scenes clips, vertical videos and social-ready moments from the day, content creation can be added to your photography package.

It’s the stuff happening around the photographs. The champagne pops, dress swishes, dance-floor nonsense and little moments you might otherwise completely miss.

I’m based in Sussex and photograph loads of weddings around Sussex, Kent, Surrey and the South East, but I’m very happy to venture further afield around the UK and beyond.

It would take something pretty significant to stop me being there, but if the worst happens, I’ll do everything reasonably possible to arrange another professional photographer to cover your wedding.

I’ve got a good network of photographers around me, so there’s a contingency plan and you would get someone of equal awesomeness – most likely, one of my team of 2nd shooters
